Lisandro hits the RB upright, so close to an equaliser for the Portuguese side — Mvogo was beaten by the header from the corner, the woodwork saves Leipzig.

Kilian Ludewig is hacked down on the right hand side — Hasenhüttl is livid, turns away in disgust at the challenge.

Mitroglou wheels away in celebration after the ball hits the net — however, the assistant correctly identifies the Greek striker was offside, no goal. Leipzig still lead 0:2.

This now has all the feeling of a preseason game. Both sides using the opportunity to get fitness into the legs.

A very settled game now, neither side carving out any real opportunity. Benfica haven’t registered a shot on target yet so far, Leipzig have had six.

Bruma tests Varela from distance but the shot takes a deflection and the Benfica GK deals with it – No problem!

Bruma is starting to pull the strings in the Leipzig midfield. The new signing from Galatasaray has looked very comfortable on the ball during the second half.

Oliver Burke receives a blow to the face. The young Scot goes clean through from the resulting free kick and is unlucky not to get RB’s second goal of the match — Varela scrambles the ball behind and out of danger.

Mvogo with a shaky moment, the young Goalkeeper loses possession on the edge of the 18 yard box. Benfica can’t find a shot to test the empty net.

Konate with another solid challenge breaks down the Benfica attack, the 18-year-old centre back has impressed so far.

Halstenberg again finds space inside the Benfica penalty area, similar situation to the goal but this time both Varela and his back 4 are wise to the danger.
